Inspired by the Elements: Wind

unless otherwise specified, all products shown can be purchased as part of your design with robin bond interiors

When I think of the element of wind, two different things come to mind. Wind is not as visually tangible as some of the other elements and so is rather hard to pin down. Wind, to me, is more of a feeling than anything else. Most people don't realize that with interior design our ultimate goal is create a certain mood in every space. Wind can be chaotic like a hurricane, or a gentle and peaceful breeze felt while standing on a snowy mountain top on a sunny day. This bedroom is inspired by the latter, utilizing an icy metallic color palette that is muted, fairly monochromatic, and sparkles like snow on a sunny day.

I love the way the elements of this design play together and create the illusion of different types of movement. The table lamp reminds me of the blowing wind, and the wall mirror makes me think of a soothing windmill spinning in the breeze. Artwork allows for a more literal translation of the inspiration, and this cool-toned tree blowing in the wind fits the mood perfectly.
