In case you didn’t know, kids have definite opinions about their rooms. I should know, since I was definitely of that mindset growing up.

So, when we design spaces for families, we take into account everyone’s preferences, not just the parents. We are intentional about creating a space where every family member will feel at home.

One such instance was with Melissa and her family, designing and furnishing their second home in Llano and most recently, their main home in Austin. Her gorgeous, Tuscan Style home encompasses over 10,000 square feet of living space between the inside and outdoor patio, and was in need of an update.

Our firm assisted with transitioning from the original Tuscan reds and golds, that had been popular, to a light and bright palette that was more neutral. We also updated the home’s finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms for a more cohesive style.

Once the colors were set, we completely updated the furnishings and window treatments, both inside and out. Included in the update was a custom-built bar table in the living room, plus a custom-built table for the breakfast space, which is appropriately scaled for this large home.

All furnishings and window treatments were special ordered, or custom made through our firm’s vendors. Then, utilizing our turn-key services, all furnishings were arranged, artwork hung, and window coverings installed, with our design team staging all the home accessories right down to the last piece.

And yes, we met with the kids following the redesign to get their feedback and make sure they loved all the updates. Helping with the kid’s rooms and their playroom was just the best!
