Before & After: Port Aransas Contemporary Vacation Getaway

In our most recent newsletter we talked about summer and vacation homes. Follow the transformation journey with us from construction to final magazine ready photography of this lovely beach house at the Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Club in Port Aransas, TX.

An interesting fact, within a few months of this home being completed it was hit head on by Hurricane Harvey and survived with just a few minor scratches on the exterior. Then in December it experienced a beautiful snowfall, which as many of you know is a very rare sight in central Texas, let alone south Texas. Oddly enough, I was at the house with my client that weekend decorating her Christmas tree and the snow covered palm trees really helped to set the holiday mood!

Over the next couple weeks we will continue to feature photos of this home from the construction phase through to the complete and furnished home.

LIVING & KITCHEN

This beach home is three stories, with a small living space on the first floor, and then the main living area shown here on the second. There is also a large outdoor living space and wrap around deck off the back of the room, making for some amazing views.

The kitchen is extremely well-planned. The ceiling-height cabinets allow for seasonal storage in the upper shelves, and the island can seat up to 8 people and double as a dining space. Since everyone seems to always gathered in the kitchen anyway, combining the dining and kitchen together is a great use of space. People can go from visiting with the cook to eating with the cook all in the same space.

Designing spaces you love to live in,
